This policy provides protection to employers for their legal liability (under Common Law), to pay compensation to their employees for injuries and diseases arising in the course of employment.
Such compensations may arise from:
- The personal negligence of the employer.
- The employers failure to provide the employee with a safe and suitable working environment e.g. by having a defective equipment or unsafe system of working.
- Contravening the statutory such as the Factories Act.
- The personal negligence of a fellow employee in the course of discharging their duties as an employee.
